Redhawk’s Don Sargaso
2009 Premium Oldenburg Stallion Candidate
Sire: Don Schufro
DamSire: Sir Oldenburg (Sion)
Shown here at his first outing off Red Hawk Ranch, Vice Champion of the 2009 German Oldenburg Inspecition Tour, the yearling ”Redhawk’s Don Sargaso,” was Champion Stallion at the Temecula Valley Breed Show judged by former Olympian Hilda Gurney with a score of 79.6%.
Red Hawk Ranch’s philosophy of breeding for generations shows the payback for patience in this charming, athletic youngster.
“Redhawk’s Don Sargaso” showed Judge Gurney “correct rhythm” and “nice spring, elasticity and ground cover to the trot.” Commented the two-time Olympian, “He is a good, modern type - a wonderful talent!”
As a weanling colt, “Redhawk’s Don Sargaso” was awarded Premium, Foal of Distinction, and Stallion Prospect by the Verband inspectors representing the German breed association. He went on to tie as the top colt in the 2009 inspection tour.

The elegant 00 Seven comes through with great presence in this young horse just starting under saddle as a three-year-old. Redhawk’s Picoletta
First month under saddle:
2005 Premium Oldenburg Mare
Sire: Pik’s Pride (Pik Noir x Barzoi)
Dam Sire: Rohdiamant
Spectacular mare just getting back to work after producing one of the top fillies from the 2009 German Oldenburg Verband Inspection Tour.
Super easy to work with. Three very good gaits that were also given to her daughter. Will move up the training scale quickly. As trainer Jaclyn Meinen says, “This one’s a keeper.”
Now that Picoletta is under saddle, we are finding that she is a) Very beautiful, b) Very trainable, and (we especially like this) c) Very focused on her rider with a strong desire to please.
From a very successful dam line (Mother, “Redhawk’s Royal Dream” has not only had success in the show ring, but has also produced nothing but PREMIUM German Oldenburg foals), Picoletta is very much a talent for the future.

Redhawk’s StPrSt Wanja
1998 State Premium mare, imported from Germany
Sire: Wolkenstein
Dam Sire: Rubinstein I
Purchased by Red Hawk Ranch 8 years ago from the familie Glasser in Obermoesal, German, “Wanja” was just being brought in from pasture to be started. “Wanja” quickly went on to achieve Germany’s highest classification for mares after just two months under saddle, gaining the top score for rideability among 40 mares in her mare performance test.
After producing three top quality foals, Red Hawk Ranch brought her home last Winter. “Wanja” has proven herself to be a delightful horse to work with…willing, wanting to please, and super easy to ride.
