Alfredo Hernandez Clinic Schedule

For auditing purposes, the following start and ends times have been scheduled for the Alfredo Hernandez Clinic at Red Hawk Ranch on Friday, July 24th and Saturday, July 25th. Actual Session schedule may change depending upon visiting rider requirements.

Start time on Friday is 3pm. We’ll finish the last ride at 8:30pm. On Saturday, we’ll be starting at 7:30am and finishing at 12:30pm.

Auditors are welcome, but should be prepared with hats, sunscreen and water bottles. There is a drinking fountain near the viewing area. There is shade in the morning until 12 or so. In the afternoon, we’ll have patio chairs available to put down in the arena shade.

Alfredo Hernandez Clinic at Red Hawk Ranch July 24/25

Red Hawk Ranch will host a clinic with Spanish Dressage trainer Alfredo Hernandez on Friday afternoon, July 24, and Saturday morning, July 25.

Hernandez’ specialty is training piaffe and passage. He has been with Hilda Gurney for 19 years and does regular clinics all over North America, including West coast locations with Mette Rosencrantz, Jan Ebeling and Tami Hoag. The clinic at Red Hawk Ranch is his first time back to the Temecula / San Diego area in many years.

Hernandez trained in Jerez, Spain where he trained horses not only for dressage but also for bull fighting. Here in the USA he specializes in the Piaffe and Passge using original Spanish techniques.

Hernandez is a trainer for many Olmpic and Grand Prix riders and will be at Red Hawk Ranch to train FEI (International Equestrian Federation) dressage riders seeking to improve their skills for international competition. He will also be working with young talented horses in hand to give them an early introduction to the movements.

20-30 minute sessions focusing on the piaffe and passage cost $60. There are limited time slots available each day. For more information about bringing a horse in to work with Hernandez, please contact Lynn Randle at 951-696-0265 or Jaclyn Meinen at 949-246-1850.

German Oldenberg Verband Mare and Foal Inspection Date Announced

For the 5th straight year, Red Hawk Ranch will host the German Oldenberg Verband (GOV) mare and foal inspection. This year, the event will take place on Sunday, August 16.

Inspectors from Germany will inspect 2009 foals and mares who have not yet been recognized by the Oldenberg Verband in Germany. Based on breeder expectations at last year’s foal inspection, there could be as many as 22 foals inspected at this site.

Breeders are encouraged to contact Bob DeGour as soon as possible to reserve a time allocation for the inspectoin. He can be reached at 951-696-0265.

Redhawk’s SanRosario (”Redhawk”)

2003 Mechlenburg Gelding. Black. 16′2hh.

Sire: “Rosario” (”Rubinstein I” x “Castro”)

Damsire: “Sandro Hit” (”Sandro Song” x “Ramino”)

“Redhawk” is by Vice-Bundeschampion “Rosario.” His damsire, “Sandro Hit,” was 1999 World Champion for Young Dressage Horses (6 year old division).

“Redhawk” remained in Germany to grow up on rich Mecklenburg grass pastures and to start under saddle with German Bereiters. KLM flew him home to California just before Christmas, 2008. He is now in training with Region 7’s gold medal team member, Jacky Meinen, here at Red Hawk Ranch. Extremely willing to please and quite sensitive. SanRosario is quick off the leg with a strong hind end that turns dreams to reality in the big ring.

Ready to show 1st level with the eye-catching demeanor that wins points.
