“Sir Donnerhall”

Here at Red Hawk Ranch, our experience with “Sir Donnerhall” has been exemplary. We have three “Sir Donnerhall” offspring out of three different mares. For us, he has produced three exceptional offspring - with strong common denominators in terms of conformation, gaits, and character.
For our 2009 foal crop, we bred “Sir Donnerhall” to “Picoletta” — a mare out of our “Rohdiamant” x “Weltmeyer” mare.
“Sir Donnerhall’s” sire is World Champion “Sandro Hit” and his damsire is the incomparable “Donnerhall.”
During his 30 Day Stallion Performance Test, “Sir Donnerhall” received 9’s and 10’s for his three gaits, and a 9.5 for his rideability. During his 70 Stallion Performance Test, he received the highest score ever awarded: 163 (the German’s have been conducting Stallion Performance Tests for over 100 years).
While competing in the World Championship for Young Dressage Horses in Verden, Germany (5 Year Old Division), “Sir Donnerhall” won the first stage with a 9.2, and became the Vice-Champion the following day in the final.

“Haverford’s Redhawk” Confirmed in Foal

“Haverford’s Redhawk” (aka “Sunny”)
“Haverford’s Redhawk,” an all black 2003 mare (”Hohenstein” x “Grandus” x “Weltmeyer”), is known for not only her good looks inherited from her sire & from her Grand damsire but also for her exceptional character.
In 2007, she produced black Oldenburg Premium Colt, “Redhawk’s Rendezvous,” by Dutch stallion, “00 Seven” (”Rubinstein I” x “Doruto” x “Amor”). The Oldenburg jury, headed by Holly Simenson, declared “Rendezvous” a premium almost as soon has he entered the inspection arena - based on his uncommonly strong trot, modern type, stunningly good appearance — although he was just 3 weeks old at the time.
“Haverford’s Redhawk’s” 2009 foal is sired by “Wynton”
“Wynton” (born in 2003) finished a strong fifth place at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden, Germany on 02AUG08. The judges commented that “Wynton’s trot was expressive & ground covering and his front & hind legs were reaching forward - moving uphill while the position of his head was ideally on the vertical.” They also favoured his canter for his engaged hindlegs (with a score of 8.8).

“Wynton” @ World Championships For Young Dressage Horses
In addition to his recent accomplishment at the World Championships, “Wynton” claims other competitive successes: 2007 Pavo Cup Vice-Championship, 2007 KWPN Stallion Licensing Champion, Champion of his 70 Day Stallion Performance Test, and winner of all four stages of the 2008 Dutch stallion championships held in ’s-Hertogenbosch (in the final held on February 1, 2008, “Wynton” scored 88 that produced a total of 350 points - 2 points higher than 2007 Pavo Cup Champion, ”Westpoint”).
In 2007, his 70 Day Stallion Performance Test jury noted: “Wynton is a well-developed, uphill stallion with very good capacity as a riding horse. This stallion has a very good attitude and is very easy to ride. Wynton has very good technique in his legs , good posture, and very good balance.” His 70D scores are: walk (8.5), canter (9.0), trot (9.0), posture & balance (8.5), suppleness (8.0), rideabilty (8.5), capacity as a [dressage] horse (9.0).
“Wynton’s” sire is Dutch Keur Stallion, “Jazz,” who descends from “Furioso II.” The damside of “Jazz” is strongly influenced by Preferent Stallions “Nimmerdor” and “Amor.”
“Wynton’s” dam line consists of consists of top German dressage stallions, including Kyra’ Kirkland’s “Matador II.” Grand damsire, “Rubinstein I,” is known for producing offspring with tremendous “willingness to work” and well balanced gaits.
“Wynton is a beautiful, modern dressage horse with quick, active hind leg (from his sire, Jazz), coupled with the riding horse qualities and temperament inherited from Matador II and Rubinstein I. Wynton is tall and leggy with a lovely topline, good joints and feet.”

Pasture Neighbours
Late afternoon visitors: ”Serendipity” is on the left, while “Felicity” is in the center with her dam, “Dewey Beach” (on the right).
“Serendipity” is confirmed in foal to “Don Schufro.”
“Dewey Beach” will continue her dressage training after her filly, “Felicity,” is weaned in September … then we will breed her again in Spring 2009.
“Don Schufro”

“Don Schufro” is by “Donnerhall” out of a “Pik Bube” mare — both legendary Gestut Grunwoldhof stallions.
“Don Schufro” is a dark liverchestnut stallion who has led the FN Dressage Breed Index for the past seven consecutive years – this past year with an overall score of 181 (out of a possible 200). This incredible track record makes him a worthy successor to his sire, “Donnerhall,” as the world’s leading producer of dressage horses.
“Don Schufro’s” offspring excel with high rideability and extraordinary gaits. Many sons, including “Diamond Hit” are not only successful in Grand Prix Dressage competition but also are proven sires of talented dressage horses. Other Approved sons include “Don Laurie,” “Don Romantic,” “Don Caruso,” and others . . .
At the beginning of his competitive career, “Don Schufro” won his Stallion Performance Test with an astoundingly high score of 154.93. His numerous Grand Prix victories have included prestigious shows like Aachen, Bremen, Wiesbaden, and Lingen.
This incredibly talented stallion stands at Blue Hors in Denmark. His foals tend to be leggy, very smart, easy to deal with, incredibly correct in conformation, and very big movers..

“Serendipity” & “Sonata”

“Serendipity” with her 2007 Oldenburg Premium Filly, “Sonata.”
.
“Serendipity” is by “Sir Oldenburg” out of a “Rubinstein I” mare. “Sir Oldenburg’s” sire, “Sion,” is known for producing remarkably modern Sporthorses. His offspring are known for a high level of self-carriage and strong overall impression.
.
“Sir Oldenburg’s” damsire, “Contender” is an incredibly successful dressage and showjumping producer in Holstein. “Contender” has a FN Showjumping Breed Index of 149 and an FN Dressage Breed Index of 120. “Sir Oldenburg’s” dam, “Greta Garbo,” descends from the Oldenburger damline of Grunetta that has produced many State Premium and Elite Mares.
.
Regarding “Serendipity’s” damline — Johnann Hinneman, the former German Federal Trainer, once said: “when we consider a stallion of the century, we refer to Rubinstein I. His hereditary transmission is unequalled in respect to rideability, seating comfort, affability, and preparedness to perform.”
“Serendipity’s” 2009 foal is sired by “Don Schufro.”

Thinking In Terms of Generations
12AUG08
“Redhawk’s Felicity” (born 14JUN08) out for an early evening pasture romp with dam, “Dewey Beach.”
“D’Olympic,” “Wanja,” “Dewey Beach,” & “Farewell III” are just part this 2008 filly’s lineage . . .
Our German friends say: “The greatest dressage horses touch the ground — only as a courtesy.”
Bundeschampion “Farewell III”

During the 2006 German Federal Championships (Bundeschampionat, Six Year Old Division), “Farewell III” created amazing excitement as he was the resounding winner over two-time world champion “Damon Hill.”
Owned by Zuchthof Klatte, “Farewell III” scored 8.62 overall, with 8.70 for trot and 8.00 for canter. There are stallions that have a good walk and there are stallions that have a very good walk … and then there’s “Farewell III” - who scored 9.00 for his 2006 Bundeschampionat walk.
When “Farewell III” starts to move, you immediately recognize that he’s a descendant of “Florestan” — and son of Bundeschampion “Fidermark.”
As a three year old, “Farewell III” was the Vice Bundeschampion. The following year, he finished fourth. During the Bundeschampionship as a five year old, he finished third. When “Farewell III” turned seven, he & Sandra Kötter advanced to “S-Level” competition with numerous first place awards. His dam is bred similarly to “Rubinstein” and is inbred over the legendary “Romadour II.” The sire, “Fidermark,” also a Bundeschampion, was trained to Grand Prix who was characterized by a high degree of rideability, an outstanding walk, and great freedom of movement.
“Farewell III” is the sire of “Redhawk’s Felicity.”
“D’Olympic” - Vice World Champion

“D’Olympic” was the 2000 Vice Champion for Young Dressage Horses (6 year old division). His sire is “Donnerhall” and damsire is “Cor de la Bryere.” He stands in Mecklenburg’s Landgestut Redefin.
“D’Olympic” is dam-sire of our 2008 Oldenburg Premium Filly, “Felicity.”
